How Much Does a Sports Massage Cost in Bexley and North Kent? What’s Included in the Price

When you’re dealing with muscle pain, tightness, restricted movement or training-related discomfort, sports massage can be a really effective way to support recovery and help your body move more freely.
One of the most common questions people ask is: “How much does a sports massage cost?”
The answer depends on a few things — including the therapist’s level of training, the type of treatment offered, whether it includes assessment and aftercare, and whether you choose a clinic or mobile appointment.
In this post, I’ll explain what can affect the price of a sports massage, what’s included in a professional session, and how my Advanced Sports Massage appointments work at my Bexley Clinic and across North Kent.
What Influences the Cost of Sports Massage?
Sports massage prices can vary depending on the therapist, the location, the type of treatment, and whether you choose a clinic or mobile appointment.
It’s helpful to understand what you’re paying for, because not all sports massage treatments are the same. A lower-priced appointment may offer a general massage, while a more advanced session may include an assessment, targeted techniques, movement checks, and aftercare advice.
1. Location and appointment type
Prices can vary depending on where the treatment takes place. Clinic appointments are often more affordable because the therapist is already based at one location.
Mobile sports massage usually costs more because it includes travel time, fuel, setup, packing away, and the convenience of having treatment in your own home.
At Next Level Sports Massage, I offer appointments from my Bexley Clinic, as well as mobile appointments across Bexley, Dartford, Gravesend, Sidcup, Swanley, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Kings Hill and surrounding North Kent areas.
2. Therapist qualifications and experience
A therapist’s training and experience can also affect the price. Sports massage is not just about applying firm pressure. A good session should be tailored to your body, your symptoms, and your goals.
Advanced sports massage may include consultation, range of movement checks, postural or movement observations, soft tissue techniques, trigger point work, myofascial release and aftercare advice.
This is why a more assessment-led treatment may cost more than a general massage.
3. Length of the session
Sports massage appointments are usually offered in different lengths, commonly 45, 60 or 90 minutes.
A shorter session may be suitable for one specific area, while a 60-minute appointment allows more time to assess and treat the main problem properly. A 90-minute session can be helpful if there are several areas involved, such as back, hips, legs and shoulders.
4. Type of treatment needed
The price may also reflect the type of treatment required. A general maintenance massage may be more straightforward, while injury-related or more complex pain patterns often require a more detailed approach.
For example, someone with a tight shoulder may also need the neck, upper back, ribs or posture considered. Someone with knee pain may need the hips, glutes, quads, calves or movement patterns assessed too.
This is where a targeted sports massage approach can offer much more than simply massaging the painful area.
5. Ongoing treatment or packages
Some people book sports massage as a one-off treatment, while others use it regularly to support training, recovery, posture, or long-term aches and pains.
Where ongoing treatment is recommended, regular appointments or packages may help reduce the average cost and keep your body moving well between sessions.
By understanding these factors, you can choose the right appointment for your needs — whether that’s a clinic-based treatment in Bexley or a mobile sports massage appointment across North Kent.

Sports Massage Pricing: What to Expect
Sports massage prices can vary across the UK, but the most important thing to understand is what is included in the appointment.
Not all massage treatments are the same. A relaxation massage may focus more on calming the nervous system, easing general tension and helping you switch off. An Advanced Sports Massage is more targeted and may include consultation, movement checks, assessment, deeper soft tissue techniques, trigger point work, myofascial release and aftercare advice.
At Next Level Sports Massage, my pricing reflects the type of treatment you choose, the time needed, and whether you book at my Bexley Clinic or choose a mobile appointment across North Kent.
Current 60-minute starting prices
Advanced Sports Massage Bexley Clinic — from £75, Mobile — from £85
Relaxation Massage Bexley Clinic — from £65, Mobile — from £75
Oncology Massage Bexley Clinic — from £45, Mobile — from £55
Prices may vary depending on treatment length, appointment type and location for mobile bookings.
How much is a 1-hour sports massage?
A 1-hour sports massage is one of the most popular treatment lengths because it gives enough time to understand what is going on, focus on the main problem area, and provide suitable aftercare advice.
At Next Level Sports Massage, a 60-minute Advanced Sports Massage at the Bexley Clinic starts from £75, while a mobile Advanced Sports Massage starts from £85.
A 1-hour Advanced Sports Massage may include:
• A consultation to understand your symptoms, injury history, lifestyle, training or movement concerns
• Range of movement checks or basic assessment where appropriate
• Targeted sports massage and deep tissue techniques
• Trigger point work where suitable
• Myofascial release techniques to help reduce restriction
• Treatment focused on the areas contributing to pain, tension or reduced movement
• Advice on stretches, mobility, recovery or self-care where needed
This duration is ideal if you have a specific area you want to focus on, such as neck and shoulder tension, lower back discomfort, hip tightness, leg fatigue, sports-related aches, training recovery or general muscular restriction.
Why does mobile sports massage cost more?
Mobile sports massage is priced higher than a clinic appointment because it includes more than the treatment time itself.
When I come to your home, the appointment also includes travel time, fuel, setting up the couch and equipment, packing away afterwards, and the convenience of receiving treatment without needing to travel.
For many clients, especially those dealing with pain, fatigue, limited mobility or a busy schedule, the convenience of a mobile appointment can make a big difference.
What are you paying for?
When booking a sports massage, it’s worth checking what is included in the price.
A lower-priced treatment may be suitable if you simply want general relaxation or lighter maintenance work. However, if you are dealing with pain, restricted movement, training recovery or a recurring issue, an assessment-led approach can often offer better value.
My aim is not just to massage where it hurts. It is to look at what may be contributing to the problem and tailor the session around your body, your movement and your goals.
A sports massage with me is designed to be more than a general massage. It is a focused treatment that looks at how your body is moving, where restriction may be building, and how soft tissue work can support better recovery, comfort and performance.
